FMP briefing

During the FMP briefing I took some notes on my phone. Here they are below:

⁃ Planning

⁃ Don’t cut corners

⁃ External examiners from UAL

We able to book the studio room at the uni campus for year 2 FMP students.

Summer show is very important. Put 100% effort into summer show for a distinction.

Make sure you have the proposal from. Either in your emails or classroom.

Copy over stuff from old projects and work given to us. Use loads of research of photographers.

Import stuff

⁃ no brief, you write it in you proposal

⁃ Is a body of work on whatever theme you want – as long as it’s safe, realistic in the time frame, legal and conforms to everyday standers of decency.

⁃ You have around 10 weeks (minus half term and Easter) so needs to have depth and breath to the project

⁃ Deadline 1st draft proposal Wednesday 26th February

⁃ Deadline final draft proposal/bibliography and time- plan: Wednesday 4th March 4pm

⁃ Have a very strong proposal and bibliography

⁃ All mini deadlines need to be met, along with having an active part in the summer show and the set-up, to achieve a distinction.

⁃ Context (concept)

⁃ Research

⁃ Problem solving planning and production

⁃ Practical skills

⁃ Evaluation

⁃ Presentation

Emails a photographer you have been researching.

Minimum of 4 shoots for this project

Shoot at least every 2 weeks

They need to see lots of…

⁃ research and analysis- into both photographers artists and your chooses them. E.g the history of your topic and starting point

⁃ Experimentation- photography and post production

Need to separate your FMP blog from everything else!!

Studentship and Professionalism

⁃ Attendance (needs to be at least 90%)

⁃ Communication

⁃ Encouragement

⁃ Respect

Sustained research means an on going read research throughout the project.

You can change your proposal later on but u will need to change it
